'Just about songs and an old soul'

Nah, nothing much to this post, just staring into nothingness, but listening to cool music from the past. My choices of music are not eccentric. For me, as long as a song sounds nice to the ear, then that's good enough for me. I enjoy listening to easy listening music. When I was younger, I preferred songs played on Magic 89.9, but then it was one of the causes of my having insomnia during my college days. So what I did was, I started listening to 94.7 Mellowtouch. The songs there during the evening are slow, and they had Paolo Santos every week, so it was all good for me. But then the songs they played during the day were not my cup of tea, so I looked for another radio station. Yeah, you know me as a hardcore rock music listener, but the truth is I love any genre except for jazz. It depends on how my mood is. If it's a cloudy day and the weather is soothing but not raining, I used to play old, old love songs, yung tipong naririnig mo lang palagi, but you don't know who the artist was. Emoting? Not really, I just love the rhythm of the song na sumasabay sa klima ng panahon, and sometimes the lyrics mix well.

The songs they were playing were slow ones, but then they're playing current tunes too. So I stuck with that. Until now, I'm more into that station. They regularly play some of my favorites, and that's just pleasant for me.

I'm more of a love songs kind of guy (being single and all that romantic stuff). I imagine myself kissing 'the one' with Texas' "In Demand" in the background. Crush ko nun si Texas, she's the one who sang the hit single, "Say What You Want".

I will never forget the time that I went home, riding a jeepney and damn man, I was shock because my ultimate crush in high school was there. Pagkakataon ko na ba na makilala siya? No man, I'm weak, I don't have the capability na tanggalin ang ka-torpedohan ko sa katawan. Matindi pa ako sa pipi kahit love songs na yung pinapatugtog ni manong driver sa radyo niya. I remember the song, which was from Side A, "Forevermore." But that was the moment ng katorpedohan ko. I'm happy for her, and she lived well as I saw her Facebook account nung mga nakaraang taon, but I got hacked, I created a new account, but until now hindi niya pa ulit inaaccept ang friend request ko.

Hands Like Houses - Torn

Some songs make me remember some of the best times of my life:

• Forevermore, Side A - unforgettable until now, of course, because of my high school crush

• Teenage Angel, Addict - my personal favorite, and dedicated also to a crush before our high school graduation

• You Got It All, The Jets - can't forget this song playing on the radio when I and my nanay and I went to Marikina tapos may nag-aaway na pasahero at driver haha and then pagdating sa bahay ng tita ko sa Marikina, napakinggan ko ulit to. Ayun tumatak na sa isip ko habang nagmemeryenda ako ng panderegla at Royal.

• All This Time, Tiffany - so nostalgic nito. I remember myself sa Quirino station at 1 pm in the afternoon tapos ako lang ang naghihintay ng tren at sobrang nakakantok ang vibes tapos tutugtugan ka ng All This Time ni Tiffany. One of my favorite tunes kasi gusto ko sa mga boses yung mga baby voice na medyo husky. There's something in it!

• Love Is All Around, Wet Wet Wet - entrada pa lang ng kantang to, nakakainlab na kaya isa sa mga naging favouites ko noong 90s. Haaaays ang gaan sa pakiramdam ng tune na yan.

• Hindi Magbabago, Randy Santiago - ohh man, ang tanda ko sa kanta na to nung umiiyak ako mula sa school hanggang sa bahay nung Preparatory pa lang ako kasi hinahanap ko nanay ko at gusto ko nang umuwi hahaha. Pinauwi naman ako pero siyempre nagalit si nanay tapos sumabay pa ata tong kanta na to kasi nanonood sila ng Student Canteen habang kumakanta si Kuya Ratsky.

• Always, Atlantic Starr - Nagustuhan ko yung kanta kasi isa ito sa themesong ads ng bagong labas na ice cream sa Magnolia Flavor of the Month. I love the tune so mellow and the coldness of the ice cream in my mouth. Feel na feel ko yung vibe ng kanta.

• You're Beautiful, James Blunt- Again, my eternal crush, the love of my life that will never be.

Pansin niyo yun nagiging paborito natin yung kanta it's because of some event that becomes our memory? Sa alaala na yun naka-attached na itong mga kanta hanggang ma-recognized mo at maisama sa favorite playlist of your life. These are just some of the songs that I really like to listen to these days.
