The Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, also known as St. Catherine's Church or Carcar Church, is a Roman Catholic church in Carcar, Cebu, Philippines. It is under the jurisdiction of the Archdiocese of Cebu.

The settlement of Carcar in Cebu was covered by a parish in 1599, which was run by the Augustinians. The current Carcar Church was built sometime in the 19th century. This is around the time when Cebu experienced an economic boom and became a major producer of agricultural goods. The church was named after Carcar's patron saint, Catherine of Alexandria.

The Carcar Church features a basilica-style design. Its complex also hosts a separate building, which is intended and used as a convent. It is built using coral stones with part of its structure, specifically its upper stories and ceiling, made using hardwood. The structure is of mixed architectural style. Parts of the structure exhibit examples of Neo-Mudรฉjar, Revival Baroque, and Austrian Baroque architecture. Its wooden choir loft is of Gothic Revival character. The church building is also described as having Greco-Roman and Muslim influences. The convent building also has characteristics of the indigenous bahay na bato.

The church's ceiling is decorated by Cebuano artist Canuto Avila, which was commissioned by Fr. Anastasio Nuรฑez del Corro. The ceiling mural was executed from the 1910s to the 1920s. The artwork is an example of trompe-l'ล“il with rosettes as a motif rather than featuring a theological subject.

The City of Carcar, established on July 7, 2007, by RA 9436, was originally a small seaside settlement some 40 kilometers south of โ€œZebu,โ€ now Cebu City. The settlement was known then as โ€œSAYLOโ€ or โ€œSIALOโ€. It is located between two big rivers. On the north is the MINAG-A River, which empties into the Carcar Channel from the mountain area bounding the City of Carcar with the municipalities of Pinamungajan and San Fernando. On the south is the CARCAR River, which empties into the Carcar Channel from the mountain area bounding the City of Carcar with the Municipality of Barili.

The settlement was called โ€œSayloโ€ because it lies at the outskirts, and out of the waterway leading to Mowag, a larger riverine community along the Carcar River.

Oral traditions claimed that in olden times, it would be difficult for noninhabitants of Carcar to locate the main community at Mowag, now the Poblacion Area, because of a labyrinth of waterways of the Carcar Marsh. So the safest approach to reach the main community at Mowag is by land from Saylo through a circuitous route passing through what is now Barangay Liburon, to Ylaya, part of Poblacion III, and then to Luan-Luan, Poblacion I.
